Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Pawzivra collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We have kept it plain and specific to how our service works.

Who we are

Pawzivra is an online shop that turns photos of your pet into personalised artwork created with artificial intelligence. We sell digital downloads and optional printed products to customers in the United Kingdom and the United States.

We are the controller of the personal information described here, which means we decide how and why it is used. For any privacy question or request, email hello@pawzivra.com or use our contact page.

The information we collect

When you place an order

  • Order details: the style, orientation, costume or scene, products and options you choose, prices paid, your order number and order status.
  • Contact details: your name and email address, so we can send your confirmation, order page link and download link.
  • Delivery details for printed products: the recipient's name, delivery address and, where the courier needs it, a phone number.
  • Pet photos and pet details: the photos you upload, your pet's name and type, and anything else you tell us about your pet.
  • Custom text and instructions: any name, dedication or date you add, your font choice, and any scene description or instructions you write.
  • Payment information: PayPal handles your payment and tells us the transaction reference, amount, currency, status and the name, email address and (where given) address linked to it. We never see your full card number or your PayPal login.

A pet-and-owner portrait means your photos will show you or another person. We use these images only to create the artwork you ordered. Please upload someone else's photo only with their agreement, and only a parent or guardian should upload a photo of a child.

When you contact us or leave a review

If you message us through our contact form or by email, we keep your name, email address and what you tell us. If you submit a review, we keep the review, any rating, the display name you give and the order it relates to.

When you browse our site

Our servers record technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the referring page, and the date and time. We use this for our own site statistics and to keep the site secure, including preventing fraud and abuse. We also use a small number of cookies, explained in our cookie policy.

How we use your information and our lawful bases

UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) requires a lawful basis for each use of personal information. These are the bases we rely on.

Contract

We use your order details, photos, pet details, custom text, contact details and delivery details to create your artwork, add your text, deliver your files, make and ship printed products, send emails about your order, create extra versions you request, and handle problems, refunds and reprints. We need this information to fulfil our contract with you.

Legitimate interests

We rely on our legitimate interests to keep our site and systems secure, prevent fraud and payment abuse, understand how the site is used through our own statistics, answer general enquiries, and establish or defend legal claims. We have balanced these interests against your rights, and you can object at any time.

Legal obligation

We keep order and payment records to meet tax and accounting rules, and we share information with authorities where the law requires it.

Consent

We ask for your consent before we use your photos or artwork in marketing, publish a review you submit, send marketing emails (if we offer them) or load optional third-party content such as an embedded map. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@pawzivra.com. This does not affect anything we did before.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers we need to run Pawzivra, and each receives only what it needs.

  • PayPal processes your payment. You deal with PayPal directly when you pay, and its own privacy statement covers the information you give it.
  • Our AI image provider (currently OpenAI) creates your artwork. We send it your pet photos and the instructions needed to produce the image, built from your chosen style, pet type and any scene you describe, for that purpose. We do not send it your payment or delivery details.
  • Prodigi (Prodigi Group Ltd) prints and ships physical orders. We send it the print file and the recipient's name, delivery address, email address and phone number so it can make, ship and track your order. It passes delivery details to the courier.
  • Our email delivery provider sends order confirmations, download links and other service emails for us.
  • Our hosting provider runs the servers that hold our website, database and files, including uploaded photos and finished artwork.
  • Advisers and authorities: our accountants, lawyers or insurers where needed, and police, regulators or courts where the law requires it.

We use your photos only to create your artwork, and we do not use them to train AI models. If our business is ever sold or reorganised, personal information may pass to the new owner, who would have to use it in line with this policy.

International transfers

Some of our providers, including our AI image provider and PayPal, are based in the United States or process data elsewhere outside the UK. US customers' information is also processed in the UK, where we are based. When we transfer personal information outside the UK, we rely on a recognised safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses, depending on the provider. Email hello@pawzivra.com for details of the safeguard for a particular provider.

How long we keep your information

  • Original photos you upload: deleted 30 days after your order is completed.
  • Previews and unfinished portraits: previews made before payment are deleted after 7 days, and photos for portraits you do not order are deleted 30 days after you last worked on them.
  • Finished artwork files: kept for 365 days, so you can download them again or ask for help, then deleted.
  • Order and payment records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically six years in the UK.
  • Messages and support requests: kept as long as we need to deal with your query and any follow-up.
  • Site statistics and security logs: kept for limited periods, only as long as needed for statistics, security and fraud prevention.

Asking us to delete your photos and artwork

You can ask us to delete your photos and artwork sooner, from your order page (reached through the secure link in your order emails) or by emailing hello@pawzivra.com from the address you ordered with. Deletion cannot be undone, so download anything you want to keep first. After deletion we cannot create extra versions or reprints.

We cannot delete order and payment records we must keep for tax and accounting, or limited information needed for a refund, dispute or legal claim.

Our providers apply their own retention periods. For example, our AI image provider and print partner may keep copies of images or order data for limited periods under their own terms, such as for safety monitoring or their own legal duties. Deleting files from our systems does not remove those copies.

Your rights under UK data protection law

You have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
  • rectification of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • erasure of your information, subject to the exceptions above;
  • restriction of how we use your information while a concern is looked into;
  • object to uses based on our legitimate interests;
  • data portability, receiving information you gave us in a common, machine-readable format, or having it sent to another organisation where technically possible;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email hello@pawzivra.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity, usually by writing from the email address on your order or giving your order number. We will respond within one month, normally free of charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

If you live in the United States

Depending on your state, you may have rights under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to:

  • know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy;
  • delete personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • opt out of the sale of personal information or its sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising;
  • not be treated differently for using these rights.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. The sections above set out what we collect, where it comes from, why we use it and who receives it.

To make a request, email hello@pawzivra.com. We will verify it against your order details. Where your state's law allows, you may use an authorised agent. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.

Children

Pawzivra is intended for adults, and you must be 18 or over to place an order. Our service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us personal information, email hello@pawzivra.com and we will delete it.

Your photos and our marketing

We never use your photos, your pet's details or your finished artwork in our marketing, on social media or on this website without your express permission. If we would like to feature your artwork, we will ask first, explain where it would appear and go ahead only if you clearly agree. If you later withdraw permission, we will stop using it in new material and remove it where we reasonably can.

How we keep your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, secure expiring links for order pages and downloads, access limited to the people and systems that need it, and providers with strong security practices. Card details are handled by PayPal and never pass through our systems.

No system is completely secure. Please keep your order emails private, because anyone with a secure link can open the page it leads to. If you think a link has been shared by mistake, contact us.

Automated processing and AI

Your artwork is created by an AI image model from your photos and chosen options. This is automated processing, but its only purpose is to produce an image. We do not use it to profile you or to make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.

If you ask for a preview on the Review & pay page, we send your photos and choices to our AI image provider to make a small, watermarked preview before you pay. This is a step you ask us to take before entering into a contract, which UK data protection law allows under the contract basis. Previews are shown only to you and are deleted after 7 days.

Our AI image provider runs its own automated safety checks, which can occasionally stop an image being created. If that happens and we still cannot create your artwork, we will refund you as set out in our refunds policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our service, providers or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a significant change to how we use information we already hold, we will email affected customers where we reasonably can.

For any question about this policy or your personal information, email hello@pawzivra.com or use our contact form. Please include your order number if your question is about an order.
